# Hubsoft integration with Accel-ppp

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with Accel-PPP to authenticate PPPoE subscribers through Hubsoft's RADIUS on a Linux server. The concentrator receives from Hubsoft who can connect and at what speed.

Accel-PPP is an open-source PPPoE and VPN concentrator for Linux. With Hubsoft, it authenticates subscribers through RADIUS, sends session accounting, and applies bandwidth control.

## About Accel-PPP

Accel-PPP is a high-performance, multithreaded broadband access and VPN concentrator for Linux. The project is open source, licensed under GPL-2.0, and supports PPPoE (including TR-101), IPoE, L2TPv2, PPTP, and SSTP. For the provider, it is a way to build the PPPoE concentrator on its own server.

## What the integration does

With Accel-PPP pointed to Hubsoft's RADIUS:

* Hubsoft's RADIUS authenticates subscribers' PPPoE connections.
* Accel-PPP sends session accounting to RADIUS, with periodic updates.
* Accel-PPP's shaper module controls session bandwidth.
* Subscribers receive an IP from the pool configured in Accel-PPP.
* In Hubsoft, the team can see connected customers and a real-time bandwidth usage chart.

## What you need

* A Linux server with Accel-PPP installed. The provider is responsible for installing Accel-PPP and the operating system according to its scenario.
* Hubsoft's RADIUS IP and secret, matching in Accel-PPP and Hubsoft.
* An SSH user on the server for Hubsoft.
* The concentrator's POP registered under Network > Points of Presence.

## How to enable it

1. Under Network > Connection Equipment, add the concentrator with its name, IP, manufacturer, model, and POP. Enable RADIUS, enter the secret and incoming port, and fill in the SSH username, password, and port.
2. On the server, edit /etc/accel-ppp.conf and enable the log, pppoe, auth\_radius, ippool, and shaper modules.
3. In the \[radius\] section, enter a name for the NAS and Hubsoft's RADIUS server, along with the secret, authentication port 1812, and accounting port 1813.
4. Configure the PPPoE interface, IP pool, and DNS servers.
5. Enable packet forwarding (IP forwarding) and NAT for the IP pool.
6. Restart the service and check active sessions with accel-cmd show sessions.

The step-by-step guide with screenshots is on the [Accel-PPP page in the Hubsoft wiki](https://wiki.hubsoft.com.br/pt-br/modulos/rede/equipamento%5Fconexao/nas/accel-ppp).

## Limitations

* The Hubsoft wiki covers only the configuration required for the integration. Install Accel-PPP according to the project's [official documentation](https://docs.accel-ppp.org/index.html).

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Hubsoft install Accel-PPP on my server?

No. The Hubsoft guide assumes Accel-PPP is already installed and covers configuration of the main file, network, and NAT.

### How do I check whether subscribers are authenticating?

In Hubsoft, open the concentrator under Network > Connection Equipment and select Actions > View Connected Customers. On the server, accel-cmd show sessions lists active sessions.

### Is the accounting interval fixed?

No. Accel-PPP uses the interval defined in the configuration file, which can be overridden by the Acct-Interim-Interval attribute sent by RADIUS.
