# Hubsoft integration with CISCO

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with Cisco to authenticate PPPoE subscribers on ASR and 3800 concentrators through Hubsoft RADIUS. Plan speed, disconnection, and suspension data come from Hubsoft records.

Cisco provides network and security infrastructure. With Hubsoft, Cisco ASR and 3800 concentrators authenticate PPPoE through RADIUS, receive plan speed, and send the session’s IPv6.

## About Cisco

Cisco provides network infrastructure, security, observability, and collaboration solutions for businesses and operators. The company is known for its routers and switches. For internet service providers (ISPs), Cisco routers in the ASR and 3800 series serve as PPPoE concentrators.

## What the integration does

With the concentrator registered as a connection device, Hubsoft:

* Authenticates PPPoE sessions through Hubsoft RADIUS, with accounting for start, stop, and periodic updates.
* Delivers plan speed to the concentrator through RADIUS.
* Disconnects subscribers through Hubsoft using PoD/CoA on port 3799.
* Collects the subscriber LAN’s IPv6 prefix when accounting sends the prefix delegation.
* Places suspended subscribers in separate IPv4 and IPv6 pools so the provider can block them in the firewall.
* Displays the list of connected customers and a real-time bandwidth usage chart.

**Models documented in the wiki:** Cisco ASR Series and Cisco 3800 Series.

## What you need

* Cisco ASR or 3800 concentrator with an access IP.
* An SSH user on the concentrator for Hubsoft.
* The same RADIUS secret in Cisco and Hubsoft.
* The concentrator’s POP registered under Network > Points of Presence.

## How to activate

1. Under Network > Points of Presence, register the concentrator’s POP.
2. Under Network > Connection Devices, click "+" and enter the name, IP, Cisco as the manufacturer, model, and POP.
3. Enable RADIUS, select the server, enter the secret and incoming port matching the concentrator, and enter the SSH username, password, and port. For the 3800, the wiki specifies NAS ACCEL as the type.
4. On Cisco, configure the RADIUS attributes, RADIUS server, AAA group, PoD/CoA, default download and upload policies, and Virtual-Template, following the wiki model.
5. If using IPv6, include accounting in the DHCPv6 pool so Hubsoft receives the delegated prefix.
6. Test under Actions > View Connected Customers, on the Layer 3 tab.

The step-by-step guide with screenshots is in the Hubsoft wiki: [Cisco ASR Series](https://wiki.hubsoft.com.br/pt-br/modulos/rede/equipamento%5Fconexao/cadastrar-concentrador-cisco), [Cisco 3800 Series](https://wiki.hubsoft.com.br/pt-br/modulos/rede/equipamento%5Fconexao/nas/Cisco3800series) and [3800 bandwidth control](https://wiki.hubsoft.com.br/pt-br/modulos/rede/equipamento%5Fconexao/nas/Controledebandacisco3800series).

## Limitations

* In the 3800 series, bandwidth control uses a parameter different from the ASR line, with three values per direction: speed, burst, and maximum burst. Speed comes from the plan; burst values must be adjusted manually for each plan.
* The wiki configuration models are a starting point and may require adjustments for each provider’s scenario.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can Hubsoft disconnect a subscriber’s session on Cisco?

Yes, through PoD/CoA. The concentrator must accept RADIUS requests on port 3799, using the same secret configured in the record.

### How do I suspend a subscriber on Cisco?

Create the IPv4 suspension pool on Cisco and, if using IPv6, the pool and blocking DHCPv6 server. Then enter the names of these pools in the suspension pool variables under Configuration > General > Variables and block the ranges in the firewall.

### Does Cisco also integrate with OLTs?

Cisco appears on the wiki’s list of integrated OLT brands, but no detailed models are provided. To confirm your equipment, contact the Hubsoft Infrastructure Support team.
