# Hubsoft integration with GenieACS

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with GenieACS, an open-source TR-069 server, to manage subscriber routers. Support agents can change the Wi-Fi password and restart the CPE through Hubsoft without paying for a management license.

## About GenieACS

GenieACS is an auto-configuration server (ACS) for the TR-069 protocol, also known as CWMP, distributed as open-source software. It manages any TR-069-compatible equipment, discovers each device’s parameters, and enables script-based provisioning, such as firmware updates. It has an HTTP API for integration. The project is maintained by GenieACS Inc., which offers separate commercial support.

## What the integration does

* **CPE discovery:** every 60 minutes, Hubsoft updates the list of CPEs found in GenieACS.
* **Automatic linking:** each CPE is linked to the customer’s plan through the MAC Layer2/Serial field.
* **Management through Hubsoft:** in the plan’s CPE list, support agents with the specific permission can edit the Wi-Fi network name and password.
* **Restart:** the support agent can request a CPE restart without leaving Hubsoft.
* **Connected devices:** the LAN devices screen shows the devices connected to the customer’s router.
* **Subscriber Portal:** when enabled, the subscriber can view the Equipment tab and change the Wi-Fi name and password independently.
* **CPE information:** Hubsoft also displays data such as the model and software version.

## What you need

* A GenieACS server installed and maintained by the ISP. Because GenieACS is free, Hubsoft and any contracted provider do not provide support for it.
* CPEs with TR-069 configured to retrieve settings from the GenieACS server.
* The GenieACS API access URL, username, and password. The API’s default port is 7557.
* The MAC address or serial number entered in the customer’s plan for automatic linking.

## How to activate it

1. Install GenieACS and configure the CPEs to communicate with it.
2. In Hubsoft, go to Configuration > Integrations > CPE Manager and register GenieACS with the access URL, username, and password.
3. Wait for the first CPE list update.
4. To allow the subscriber to change Wi-Fi settings, select "Display Equipment" and "Configure Equipment" in the Subscriber Portal settings.

## Limitations

* For now, the integration only changes Wi-Fi network parameters.
* The installation, updates, and availability of the GenieACS server are the ISP’s responsibility.
* The CPE list is updated hourly. A new CPE may take up to 60 minutes to appear.

### Do I need to pay for GenieACS?

No. GenieACS is free and open source. In return, the ISP installs and maintains the server independently.

### How does it differ from a paid manager, such as Anlix?

GenieACS uses TR-069, which many routers include from the factory. Anlix requires replacing the router’s software and includes company support.

### Which port does Hubsoft use to communicate with GenieACS?

The GenieACS API’s default port is 7557.
