Technical Note NT 2026.001 introduces a significant change for the industry: the requirement to link payment directly to the electronic tax document. This initiative is part of the implementation of Split Payment, a new collection model that reorganizes how taxes are collected at the time of the transaction.
For internet service providers (ISPs), this means greater control, more traceability, and less room for tax inconsistencies. Linking payment to NFCom is now a technical requirement that will affect everything from document issuance to financial reconciliation.
What changes in practice for the provider
- Payment will now carry mandatory tax information.
- Taxes may be automatically segregated, reducing calculation errors.
- Rejections due to inconsistencies between the charge and the invoice are likely to increase for those who fail to adapt.
