Hubsoft integration with HSGQ

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with HSGQ to authorize, provision, and deauthorize ONUs on the brand's OLTs. Technicians release the subscriber's ONU from the Hubsoft screen, without needing OLT credentials.

HSGQ manufactures OLTs, ONUs, and switches for FTTH networks. With Hubsoft, the HSGQ-E04L OLT authorizes and provisions subscriber ONUs from the system screen via Telnet.

About HSGQ

HSGQ (Shenzhen HS Fiber Communication Equipment) is a Chinese manufacturer of optical access network solutions. It offers a complete FTTH portfolio, from the core switch to in-home subscriber access: EPON, GPON, and XGS-PON OLTs, ONUs, switches, and SFP modules.

What the integration does

The integration connects Hubsoft to the HSGQ OLT via Telnet. After registering the OLT, the team can use Hubsoft to:

  • View connected and pending-authorization ONUs on each PON port.
  • Authorize the ONU linked to the customer and service, using the selected CPE profile. Provisioning runs right after, with no further action.
  • Deauthorize and deprovision using the commands from the same profile.
  • Authorize and provision in bulk, one PON at a time, for ONUs already linked to services by serial number.
  • Wi-Fi name and password, including the 5 GHz network, provided during authorization when the CPE profile includes Wi-Fi commands.
  • Custom commands after provisioning, such as adjusting Wi-Fi or activating VoIP.
  • Alert when the ONU signal exceeds the limit on ports with monitoring enabled.
  • Log sent commands to check the OLT response when something fails.

Integrated model:

  • HSGQ-E04L (Telnet, port 23)

What you need

  • HSGQ OLT of the model above, with an access IP address.
  • Username, password, and access port for Hubsoft to connect to the OLT.
  • The OLT's POP registered under Network > Points of Presence.
  • CPE profiles with authorization, provisioning, deprovisioning, and deauthorization commands under Configuration > Network > CPE Profiles.

How to activate

  1. Under Network > Connection Equipment, click Add and enter the name, IP address, HSGQ manufacturer, model, and POP.
  2. Enter the username, password, and access port: Telnet, port 23.
  3. Under Actions > View, enable editing and register the PON ports on the Interfaces tab, individually or in bulk, with chassis, slot, PON, initial VLAN, VLAN increment, default CPE profile, and the concentrator that authenticates customers.
  4. To test, open Actions > View Connected Customers and check the Layer 2 and Pending Layer 2 tabs.
  5. Authorize the first ONU from the menu next to it by entering the customer, service, and CPE profile.

The step-by-step instructions with screenshots are in the Hubsoft wiki: OLT and port registration, ONU authorization and provisioning and integrated OLT list.

Limitations

  • Bulk authorization and provisioning work with one PON at a time. If the PON has ONUs in bridge and router mode, process one type at a time.
  • When registering ports in bulk, register no more than 4 slots at a time.
  • When changing PONs, deauthorize the ONUs from the old PON directly on the OLT. In Hubsoft, deauthorization also removes the link between the customer and the ONU.

Frequently asked questions

My HSGQ model is not on the list. What now?

Contact Hubsoft's Infra Support team. They will assess the feasibility of integrating the model.

Does the technician need the OLT password?

No. The username and password are stored in the equipment record. The operator views and authorizes ONUs from the Hubsoft screen, without OLT credentials.

Can I authorize multiple ONUs at once?

Yes, one PON at a time, under Actions > View Connected Customers. The ONUs must be linked to customer services, with the serial number entered on the service's Authentication tab. After bulk authorization, bulk provisioning applies the CPE profile and VLAN.
