About Think
Think Technology has operated in the telecommunications market since 2015, providing equipment and infrastructure for fiber-optic networks. The company works with electronics, connectivity, and plastic and metal parts, serving providers, distributors, and technicians.
What the integration does
The integration connects Hubsoft to the Think OLT via SNMP or Telnet, depending on the model. Once the OLT is registered, the team can use Hubsoft to:
- View connected ONUs and those pending authorization on each PON port.
- Authorize the ONU linked to the customer and service, using the selected CPE profile. Provisioning runs right afterward, with no further action.
- Unauthorize and deprovision using the commands from the same profile.
- Authorize and provision in bulk, one PON at a time, for ONUs already linked to services by serial number.
- Enter the Wi-Fi network name and password, including for the 5 GHz network, during authorization when the CPE profile has Wi-Fi commands.
- Run custom commands after provisioning, such as adjusting Wi-Fi or activating VoIP.
- Receive an alert when the ONU signal exceeds the limit on ports with monitoring enabled.
- Log sent commands to check the OLT response when something fails.
Integrated models:
- HA7102 (SNMP)
- HA7102V2 (SNMP)
- TK-8G (Telnet, port 23)
- TK-16G (Telnet, port 23)
What you need
- A Think OLT in one of the models above, with an access IP.
- The username, password, and access port for Hubsoft to connect to the OLT.
- The OLT’s POP registered under Network > Points of Presence.
- CPE profiles with authorization, provisioning, deprovisioning, and unauthorization commands under Settings > Network > CPE Profiles. The Hubsoft team has reference profiles for Think (bridge).
How to activate
- Under Network > Connection Equipment, click Add and enter the name, IP, Think as the manufacturer, model, and POP.
- Enter the username, password, and access port: SNMP for HA7102 and HA7102V2; Telnet, port 23, for TK-8G and TK-16G.
- Under Actions > View, enable editing and register the PON ports in the Interfaces tab, individually or in bulk, with chassis, slot, PON, starting VLAN, VLAN increment, default CPE profile, and the concentrator that authenticates customers.
- To test, open Actions > View Connected Customers and check the Layer 2 and Pending Layer 2 tabs.
- Authorize the first ONU using the menu next to it, entering the customer, service, and CPE profile.
The step-by-step guide with screenshots is available in the Hubsoft wiki: OLT and port registration, ONU authorization and provisioning and integrated OLT list.
Limitations
- Bulk authorization and provisioning process one PON at a time. If the PON has ONUs in bridge and router mode, process one type at a time.
- When registering ports in bulk, register no more than 4 slots at a time.
- When changing PONs, unauthorize the ONUs on the old PON directly on the OLT. In Hubsoft, unauthorization also removes the customer-to-ONU link.
- On the TK-8G and TK-16G, register the chassis as 0; the ports are GPON only.
Frequently asked questions
My Think model isn’t on the list. What now?
Contact Hubsoft’s Infrastructure Support team. They will assess whether the model can be integrated.
Does the technician need the OLT password?
No. The username and password are stored in the equipment record. Operators can view and authorize ONUs from the Hubsoft screen without the OLT credentials.
Can I authorize multiple ONUs at once?
Yes, one PON at a time, under Actions > View Connected Customers. The ONUs must be linked to customer services, with the serial number entered in the service’s Authentication tab. After bulk authorization, bulk provisioning applies the CPE profile and VLAN.
