Hubsoft integration with VoIP Group

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with VoIP Group's VSC Softswitch for fixed-line telephony (STFC). The number linked in Hubsoft creates the customer, user, and DID in VSC, and the month's usage is added to the invoice.

VoIP Group develops the VSC Softswitch for ISPs with an STFC license. Through Hubsoft, the provider creates a user and DID in VSC, sets credit and call limits, and bills with a minimum charge.

About VoIP Group

VoIP Group is an IP communications company founded in 1998 in the United States. It serves ISPs, telecom operators, cable TV companies, and contact centers, focusing on those with STFC and SCM licenses. Its main product is the VSC Softswitch, featuring real-time billing, number portability, and dynamic routing, also available in the cloud. The portfolio includes an SBC for interconnection, a multi-company IP PBX, a DETRAF module, and a softphone branded for the provider.

What the integration does

  • Synchronized plans: Hubsoft queries the VSC API and automatically registers the plans.
  • Number registration by range: the provider enters the starting and ending numbers, and Hubsoft creates every number in the range. Authorized IPs can also be linked to the number.
  • Customer, user, and DID: when the number is linked to the customer's service, Hubsoft creates the customer (if it does not already exist), the user, and the DID in VSC. The CPF/CNPJ is added as the customer's description to prevent duplicate registration.
  • User credit: the user can have limited credit, with a defined limit, or be a credit user with automatic top-up on the selected day.
  • User rules: collect calls, limits on simultaneous incoming and outgoing calls, IVR, access to the user portal, and IP authentication.
  • Blocking and unblocking: when the service is suspended or enabled in Hubsoft, the user is disabled or enabled in VSC.
  • Removal: when the number is unlinked, Hubsoft removes the DID and registered IPs.
  • Billing: Hubsoft retrieves the monthly summary, identifies each customer by user code, and generates invoices or charges. Customers without a match appear under the Unidentified tab.
  • Minimum charge and allowances: if the combined usage falls below the configured minimum, Hubsoft bills the minimum. Plan amounts with allowances can be ignored.
  • Custom billing: through the STFC Report, the provider bills only the customers it selects.
  • Call details: optional, with the period's calls included on the customer's invoice.

What you need

  • A contract with VoIP Group, the VSC address, the provider code on the platform, and the password.
  • The VSC API methods used by the integration, enabled by VoIP Group. The list is available in the Hubsoft wiki.
  • For call details, the detailed-call API enabled in VSC.

How to activate

  1. Ask VoIP Group to enable the API methods listed in the wiki.
  2. In Hubsoft, go to Configuration > Integrations > STFC and click Add.
  3. Enter the address, provider code, and password.
  4. Under Actions > Plans, click Sync Plans. Under Actions > Numbers, register the numbers or ranges.
  5. In the customer's service, under Other Options > STFC Data, add the number.
  6. To bill, go to Actions > Process / Bill > Add Processing / Billing.

The step-by-step guide with screenshots is on the VSC page in the Hubsoft wiki.

Limitations

  • The integration will not work unless all API methods are enabled.
  • The minimum charge depends on the rates registered in VSC. With zero-value calls, billing always falls to the minimum.
  • Without the detailed-call API enabled, billing with call details may fail.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bill only some customers?

Yes. In the STFC Report, filter by the VSC integration, select the customers, and generate custom billing.

How do I charge a minimum telephony amount?

Set the minimum charge in the integration or in the customer's service. If the month's usage is lower, Hubsoft bills the minimum.

Why did a customer appear under Unidentified?

The VSC user code does not match any customer in Hubsoft. Check the user's registration on the platform.
