CPE Manager

Hubsoft integration with Anlix

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with Anlix to manage the subscriber's router. The agent can change the Wi-Fi name and password and restart the CPE through Hubsoft, while the subscriber can make the change in the Subscriber Portal.

Anlix, founded in UFRJ laboratories, develops CPE management software. Through Hubsoft, the provider links the CPE to the plan by MAC, changes the Wi-Fi password, and restarts the subscriber's router.

About Anlix

Anlix is a company that emerged from UFRJ research laboratories and develops software for internet service providers (ISPs), with offices in Rio de Janeiro and Nova Friburgo. The Flash product line covers CPE management and remote diagnostics, dashboards, inventory and action history, as well as mass configuration and automation. The company also offers Lizzie, an artificial intelligence that analyzes data and communicates with the agent.

What the integration does

  • CPE discovery: every 60 minutes, Hubsoft updates the list of CPEs found in Anlix.
  • Automatic linking: each CPE is linked to the customer's plan by the authentication MAC address.
  • Management through Hubsoft: in the plan's CPE list, the agent with the specific permission opens the management option and edits the Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • Restart: the agent requests a CPE restart without leaving Hubsoft.
  • Connected devices: on compatible models, the LAN Devices tab shows the devices connected to the customer's router.
  • Subscriber Portal: when enabled, the subscriber sees the Equipment tab, with the manageable CPEs from their plans, and changes the Wi-Fi name and password themselves.
  • CPE information: Hubsoft also displays data such as the model and software version.

What you need

  • A contract with Anlix. The system is proprietary and contracted directly with the company, which supports the provider.
  • CPEs with Anlix software: Anlix requires the router's original software to be replaced with its own.
  • In the Anlix dashboard, a permission class with REST API access and full CPE search, plus a user with this class.
  • The authentication MAC address filled in on the customer's plan for automatic linking.

How to activate

  1. In the Anlix dashboard, go to admin > Manage permissions and create a permission class.
  2. Under General Flashman permissions, allow REST API access and change CPE search to "Full search and special filters."
  3. Under admin > Manage users, create a user with this class.
  4. In Hubsoft, go to Configuration > Integrations > CPE Manager and register Anlix with the access URL, username, and password.
  5. To allow the subscriber to change the Wi-Fi settings, select "Display Equipment" and "Configure Equipment" in the Subscriber Portal settings.

The step-by-step guide with screenshots is on the Anlix page in the Hubsoft wiki.

Limitations

  • For now, the integration only changes Wi-Fi network parameters.
  • The connected devices list may not work with some manufacturers.
  • The CPE list is updated hourly. A new CPE may take up to 60 minutes to appear.

Frequently asked questions

Can the subscriber change the Wi-Fi password themselves?

Yes. With "Display Equipment" and "Configure Equipment" selected in the Subscriber Portal, they open the Equipment tab and change the network name and password.

Does every router work with Anlix?

The router must run Anlix software instead of the original software. Check with Anlix for supported models.

Why doesn't the CPE appear on the customer's plan?

Hubsoft links the CPE using the plan's authentication MAC address and updates the list every 60 minutes. Check the MAC address and wait for the next update.
