Hubsoft integration with Contel

Hubsoft, an ERP for internet service providers (ISPs), integrates with Contel to activate prepaid mobile lines as part of the customer's service. Hubsoft checks invoices every day and only reloads lines for customers who are current on payments, enabling debt-based blocking with no manual action.

Contel is a telecommunications operator based in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS). Through Hubsoft, the provider activates the prepaid line using the ICCID and area code, and the daily reload only occurs for subscribers who are

About Contel

Contel, part of Grupo Contel, is a telecommunications operator headquartered in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), with the motto "Stress-free telecommunications!" It offers mobile and landline plans with no long-term commitment, plus number portability, reloads, and an Android and iOS app. The group also operates through a franchise model.

What the integration does

  • Line activation: in the customer's service, the agent selects the plan and area code and enters the SIM card's ICCID. Contel generates the number after transmission.
  • Line lookup: Hubsoft queries Contel to retrieve the generated number. The lookup can be performed immediately using the Find Line action and also runs as part of the recurring routine.
  • Line contract: when transmission is complete, Hubsoft records the contract provided by Contel on the number.
  • Recurring checks and reloads: the plans are set up as prepaid. A daily routine checks the subscriber's invoices in Hubsoft: if they are current, Hubsoft requests a reload through the API. If they are not, the line remains without credit and cannot make calls.
  • Blocking and unblocking: when the customer's service is suspended or enabled in Hubsoft, the request is sent to Contel's transmission queue.
  • Number portability: after activation, the provider registers portability in the number's actions. Hubsoft submits the request and checks its status every hour.
  • Cancellation: when the number or plan is deleted, the cancellation is sent to Contel.
  • Package-based billing: the provider can require a package for each MVNO number in order to bill the line through Hubsoft.
  • MVNO report: lists services with Contel lines and transmission errors.

What you need

  • A contract with Contel and API access details (API address and access key), provided by Contel itself.
  • For some contracting models, a franchise access key, also provided by Contel.

  • Hubsoft plans that will receive lines, marked with the "Service Allows MVNO" option.

How to activate

  1. In Hubsoft, go to Configuration > Integrations > MVNO > Add and select Contel.
  2. Enter the API address and access key. If applicable, also enter the franchise key and require package linking.
  3. Add the plans under Actions > Plans > Add.
  4. Under Configuration > General > Services / Plans, select "Service Allows MVNO" for plans that will have a mobile line.
  5. In the customer's service, go to Other Options > MVNO Data > Add, select the plan and area code, and enter the ICCID.

The step-by-step instructions with screenshots are on the Contel page in the Hubsoft wiki.

Limitations

  • Contel plans are not synchronized: the provider adds each plan on the integration screen.
  • The number is not selected during registration: Contel generates it after activation.
  • Portability is a separate step performed after line activation.

Frequently asked questions

How does blocking work for subscribers with overdue payments?

Contel lines are prepaid. Every day, Hubsoft checks the invoices: subscribers who are current on payments receive a reload, while those with overdue payments remain without credit until they settle their balance.

Do I need to enter the number when registering the line?

No. Only the plan, area code, and ICCID are required. After transmission, use the Find Line action to retrieve the generated number, or wait for the recurring routine.

Can the subscriber bring a number from another operator?

Yes. Register portability in the number's actions after activation. Progress is shown on the Status tab of the portability screen.
